The Currant shed is a delightful little restaurant hidden on the back roads of Mclaren Flat – not too far out of Mclaren Vale.
The charm of the venue comes from the rustic architecture of the restaurant – but still modern setting covered in vines with a backdrop of fruit trees on one side of the building and vineyards from the nearby Shottesbrooke Winery on the other.
Usually wedding ceremonies are held amongst the fruit trees and grassy area, facing North East towards some gum trees in the far background. This allows for the sun to be to the left of the congregation for an afternoon ceremony meaning an umbrella might be a good idea on sunny days.
Photo opportunities include the Australian trees on the pathway towards Shottesbrooke winery, along with the pathway itself lined with vineyards and awesome thin trees in one section. The Winery also allows weddings to take wedding photos at their cellar door.
