Al-Ru Farm, founded in 1979 by Ruth and Alan Irving, has grown over the years into a breathtaking garden with 4 hectares of magical spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Al Ru Farm provides the appeal of a country estate in an ideal location.
Originally just a tiny house on cleared pasture land, Ruth worked her way up from this to the garden that now spans ten magnificent acres 40 years later.
As the garden grew, so did the family farm and surrounding buildings. The first wedding was held on the property in 1990. Since then, the options have gradually expanded, with the establishment of ‘The Barn’ as the main reception space and, more recently, additional event spaces.
Al-Ru Farm has multiple spaces on the property to accommodate any wedding party group. Bridal couples appreciate the flexibility of the choice of ceremony and reception venues. The Al Ru team thrives on assisting in delivering a flawless event every time.
Al-Ru Farm can accommodate 35 to 350 guests and has several options for wedding ceremony spaces, including the homestead lawns and the white wedding garden. Other stunning gardens at the venue include a lily pond with an open pergola, a massive white rose and wisteria archway, and their iconic glass greenhouse.
The Lily Pond Lawn is a versatile space that offers breathtaking views from all angles. What could be more pleasant than getting married in a serene pond surrounded by beautiful gardens? When you say “I do” with these breathtaking views as your backdrop, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world.
No matter the time of the year, you will find this venue shaded and cool all year round. You’ll find the flexible layout perfect for your wedding.

The White Wedding Garden venue was built for Alan and Ruth’s daughter’s weddings and is perfect for weddings of all sizes.

The Homestead Lawn is another option for your wedding ceremony and outdoor receptions.

This blank space is ideal for large events and can cater to 350 guests. Because of its location, the parking and infrastructure are easily accessible to large groups.
For your reception and indoor spaces, you can make use of The Barn. The Barn is enclosed by lush gardens and has a simple elegance ready for you to make your own.
With antique French mirrors and soft down lighting, your guests can continue to enjoy the garden or hang out by the fire as the night wears on. The Barn can seat up to 150 guests and has a separate dancefloor space.
The Hayshed is another ideal location for your wedding ceremony, reception, or special event. It’s a brightly lit outdoor space that can be used for rain, shine, or snow. The large open fire provides year-round comfort and ambience, making The Hayshed a super fun and unique venue.
Al-Ru Farm Weddings are fully catered for, and you can bring your own beverages or use a drinks supplier in addition to their fantastic facilities and inclusions.
They are also open to expanding their dessert options, such as adding a gelati or espresso cart.
Al-Ru Farm also offers luxurious lodging. They can accommodate up to 15 guests in three separate suites, each with its distinct theme.
