Coriole Vineyards is one of the most popular venues for events in the McLaren Vale wine region, and for good reason. Beautifully perched on a small hillside, it offers sweeping views of the surrounding vine-covered fields for which the region is famous. The venue also boasts a variety of ceremony locations to choose from, be it an intimate flower-filled courtyard or sprawling green lawns. The feel of Coriole Vineyards combines vintage, rustic elegance with streamlined modern amenities. The recently upgraded restaurant is completely sheltered from the elements but retains a bright, outdoorsy ambience. This makes it perfect for hosting receptions all year round. Grapevines grow freely across parts of the skylight-strewn ceiling, and large glass panel doors can be opened or closed according to changing requirements. Additionally, there is a fireplace for added cosiness in winter, and stringed droplights delightfully crisscrossing the ceiling.
The restaurant can cater for up to 120 seated guests or 220 cocktail style guests. For larger weddings, marquees can be set up in the lawn area for up to 200 seated guests. These clear marquees are spacious – big enough to accommodate a decorative full-size tree in the middle if you wish! The venue hire fee for either option includes hire from 5:00 pm until midnight. This is coupled with access to the courtyard, veranda, gardens, lawns and bathrooms. Guests can arrive at 5:00 pm for a 5:30 pm ceremony, after which the reception celebrations can begin almost immediately.
Coriole Vineyard’s executive chef and their team design a range of excellent menu options, tending toward seasonal and contemporary styles. This can, of course, be tailored to individual tastes and needs as well. Food packages can be organised as seated banquet style packages or canape style packages. Likewise, drinks packages can range from Classic, Premium to Deluxe. These drinks packages are served from 6:00 pm until 11:30 pm.
As far as photo opportunities go, Coriole Vineyards is a photographer’s dream. Not to mention a dream for the couple, who don’t need to travel far away from their family and friends to get beautiful shots – there are so many perfect options right on site! The sloping vine-covered hills, for instance, are only a short walk from all the ceremony spots. Similarly, the colourful gardens, natural textures and sweeping views on various sides of the homestead provide a smorgasbord of backdrops to choose from. Stroll down long dirt roads lined with trees, or snuggle up by tall roses set against stone pathways.
The views from Coriole Vineyards can extend all the way to the sea. Therefore, spectacular sunsets occur over the ocean and light up the vines from behind with golden hues. These long, low rays of sunlight can create a truly magical, fairy-tale-like atmosphere. While the bride and groom are having their photos taken, guests can be entertained easily with outdoor games on the lawns. Or, they can head straight to the approachable bar to grab a drink and take in the views themselves.
