Edwardstown Baptist Church

The congregation of the Edwardstown Baptist church in Adelaide’s southern suburbs has roughly 600 members, and there are two primary Sunday services, one at 10:30 a.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. These services are current and modern in design.

The Edwardstown Baptist Church is a huge church that can accommodate large gatherings and serves as a community centre. Built on the former South Road Primary School site, the church and community centre take up a lot of space. And after adding a second level to its main hall in 2005, the room is now big enough to fit a big congregation that rivals some of Adelaide’s larger live music venues.

A wedding at Edwardstown Baptist Church is intended to be a religious covenant in which a couple’s marriage is acknowledged within the context of their covenantal relationship with God.
As soon as you and your spouse decide to hold your wedding here, the church becomes an instant party to the wedding and a participant in the formulation of wedding plans.

Edwardstown Baptist Church is a relatively new church that is part of a bigger Baptist complex that serves the local community. Because the church also serves as a modern community centre and performance space, the interior is extremely dark, which your photographer will enjoy and produce beautiful images.

You are responsible for making arrangements for set up, decorations, clean-up and restoration for the use of the church facility. No decorations that will leave marks, holes or colouring on walls or furniture will be used.

All decorations are to be removed from the auditorium following the wedding ceremony. The hall will be restored to use before the next scheduled church service.

There are some instructions that you must follow during the wedding period. For instance,

  • The minimum for men is slacks, shirts and ties. Ladies must wear dresses at least to the knee in length.
  • No off-shoulder, strapless or low-cut dresses will be acceptable. This applies to the whole wedding party, musicians and reception personnel if the reception is held in the church facility.
  • The attire of female participants must be modest. Counsel, questions or concerns regarding ladies’ apparel should be directed to a pastor’s or deacon’s wife.
  • Wedding rehearsals, ceremonies, and receptions will not be held on the following holidays due to seasonal demands on the church facilities: Easter weekend, Independence day, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, Proclamation day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s day.
  • Wedding ceremonies and rehearsal dinners will not be held on Sundays or at times that clash with church services or other religious events.

For more glamorous photos, you can use the Wittunga Botanic Park or the Sturt George recreation park.

You can use any of the locations around the church for your reception. The St Francis Winery is one of the fantastic wedding reception venues around the church.

The St Francis Winery is a lovely little spot to hold a wedding reception. The decor inside is wonderfully rustic, and the venue can snugly fit quite a sizeable party.
