The St Maximilian Church Ottoway is a small modern church closer to Port Adelaide than the Adelaide CBD.
The church design consists of a sloping wooden roof, which directs attention towards the centre altar where the bridal couple would wed. It is a beautiful and holy place with a strong community feel.
The Chapel is a lovely option for wedding ceremonies in a convenient suburban location.
The 22-plus acres include the main church chapel, parish hall, and Parish office in one large building. The church hall is right across the main building, and the mausoleum sits at the back of the Church.
The Parish was established on August 16, 1985,  but was dedicated on October 10, 1992. The parish hall has been alongside St. Maximilian for over thirty years. This building was formerly used for various functions like a place for parish luncheons, recreation, and cultural get-togethers.
Currently, it is used to host big wedding ceremonies.
Built on a 22+ acre wooded site is the St Maximilian Church Ottoway. The interior has over 20 beautiful stained-glass windows of Jesus Christ, the Blessed Mother, and various Saints and religious figures.
St. Maximilian Church Ottoway encompasses an elegant, spacious arena. The wonderfully detailed fenced iron walls decorated with the cross and arrangement of beautiful shrubs along the walkways are attractive to this wedding venue’s environment.
St Maximilian Church Ottoway, nicknamed “The Mustard Seed Parish,” holds up to twelve hundred people and has four entrances.
The church hall is large and has an illuminated portrait of Jesus carrying his cross in a neat frame. The picture has become a favourite place for many couples to take photos on their wedding day.
The Parish is a breathtaking hall with a traditional design perfect for ceremonies, large and small. This hall can host a formal party with over 900 people. If you do not want a dancefloor, it can hold up to 1100 people.
The hall also has a large newly renovated kitchen facility that can host a large wedding comfortably. The development of the hall was in a way that suited different needs and furnished to modern standards. This beautiful space has floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the greenery outside, perfectly complementing the space’s interior.
The event lawn is covered in synthetic grass and has an enchanted secret garden vibe. The lush, heavily green garden will create a feeling of being swept away into a fairytale with magical lighting throughout the giant trees.
The reception area has new soaring chandeliers and whitewashed wood floors. It has a built-in bar and a recently added outdoor patio to offer guests a beautiful scenic spot for cocktail hour.
The exterior of St. Maximilian Church Ottoway is just as majestic. It has an inviting triangle-shaped roof decorated with transparent glass that welcomes visitors to come indoors just below it. The entrance also has two gigantic flower vases at the Church entrance. The vases, decorated with beautiful palm fronts, constitute the venue’s attractive appearance.
This wedding venue environment carries a natural feel. It is a neatly paved environment, and lots of cars owned by guests are parked in front of the building. Likewise, there are on-site parking lots.
The wedding venue has a more significant percentage of its structure painted with cream, exterior, and interior. Inside the Church is a beautiful lighted theme of Jesus Christ on the cross with his other disciples. The theme rhymes in perfect harmony with the colour of the Church. The piece portrays holiness, sacredness, faith, and love. The piece’s location faces where the bride and grooms exchange their vows in holy matrimony.
The brown church pews in rows on both sides of the walkway set the venue for a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony.
Two proud bell towers stand on either side, topped with vibrant red domes and crosses. The drive up to the building is through pretty gates capped with decorative bell-shaped sculptures and follows a short, winding road surrounded by sweeping green lawns. There is plenty of space for wedding party cars to pose in front of the building and on-site parking spaces. Nearby is the hall, another unique venue for photos and recreation activities.
