Tatachilla Estate is a one-of-a-kind venue steeped in South Australian winemaking history and the Mclaren Vale wine region.

In 1867 John George Kelly planted the Tatachilla Vineyards, and by 1929, the wine from Tatachilla was selling far and wide.

However, in 1964, The Tatachilla buildings were sold to the Lutheran church for use as a vacation camp. The cellars are still in decent condition, but very little of the winemaking equipment remains.

An impressive residence associated with the winery was built around the same time and featured typical Federation-period detailing. Many storage buildings and the original blacksmithy are also associated with the winery. Between the winery and the house, there is a row of mature Norfolk Island pines and a pair of Norfolk Island pines marking the entrance to the residence.

You and your guest can lodge in the Tatachilla House for the period of your wedding ceremony.

The old Tatachilla House, now restored to its former glory, was built in 1908.

If you choose the bar tab option, they will serve your choice of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits from their menu. If, at the end of the day, you have any outstanding debt, it can be added on the night, or your guest can pay as they go.
